Fittonia 'Sunshine No. 12'

Fittonias are colourful rainforest creepers that love to mix things up. One batch of cuttings can throw white, yellow, pink, green and red, from fine netted veins to broad colour panels. They crawl and root as they travel, take pruning in stride, wilt dramatically when dry and bounce back after a proper soak. Keep light soft, moisture even and the air warm and humid to keep patterns crisp.

'Sunshine No. 12' shows neon pink panels and veins set in bright green leaves with clean, lighter green margins. Leaves are small, rounded and softly textured, forming a tidy cushion for pots and terrariums.

Care Tips:

• Light: Bright, filtered light; avoid harsh midday sun.
• Water: Keep evenly moist; water when the top 1-2 cm is dry and never leave the pot in a saucer.
• Humidity: 60 to 80% with gentle airflow; terrarium friendly.
• Media: Airy, moisture-retentive mix such as coco coir or fine bark with perlite.
• Temperature: 18 to 26 °C; protect from chills below 12 °C.
• Fertiliser: Half-strength, balanced feed every 4 to 6 weeks in spring and summer.
• Repotting: Refresh the mix yearly; trim and replant tips to keep a compact clump.
