Fittonia 'Skeleton'

Fittonias are colourful rainforest creepers that love to mix things up. One batch of cuttings can throw white, yellow, pink, green and red, from fine netted veins to broad colour panels. They crawl and root as they travel, take pruning in stride, wilt dramatically when dry and bounce back after a proper soak. Keep light soft, moisture even and the air warm and humid to keep patterns crisp.

Fittonia 'Skeleton' is a vivid cultivar with chartreuse-green leaves patterned with sharp pink to red veins. The foliage has a rounded form, and the veins stand out strongly against the bright background, giving a skeletal impression from which the plant takes its name. Like other forms, it forms a low mat that responds well to trimming and will readily branch with care.

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but will tolerate lower levels.
  • Water: Keep the soil evenly moist; avoid drying out completely.
  • Humidity: High humidity helps maintain crisp colouration.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm indoor conditions, avoid cold draughts.
  • Fertiliser: Apply a balanced liquid feed during the active growing season.
  • Repotting: Refresh the potting mix every couple of years to encourage healthy growth.
